Sarandë, Albania and the Beautiful Blue Eye

We headed south to Sarandë (or Saranda in Albanian) which was a large and touristy town right on the boarder of Greece and Albania. Along the way we stopped in a little village just outside Himarë called Qeparo Eshat which was quite beautiful and very local. The drive in was stunning and we took way too many photos. The roads were cut into the cliff and as we meadered around the coastline, new little bays kept popping up. Once we were in the town we came across a bunch of wild pigs and horses who had helped themselves to...

Himarë, Albania – Otherwise known as Utopia!

I am not sure if it was the friendly little town, the crystal clear aquamarine water, the magnificent scenery, fresh local seafood every night for dinner, happy children playing all day in the sunshine, salt on my skin or a combination of all of the above. However I actually think back on our week in Himarë as being one of the best in my life. Emergency Dental Work in Cambodia

While we were in Cambodia, Milo lost his two front teeth. He was 2.5 years at the time and it was a bit traumatic (for me, not him) however I am pleased to say that overall this is a pretty positive story. On the way to Europe we stopped in Siem Reap, Cambodia for a week to see Ankor Wat. We had a wonderful time and Milo (2.5yrs) and Tom (5 nearly 6) spent all their days running around the Temples of Angkor. They had a ball amongst all the old ruins and forests. I often called out to...

Return to Beautiful Bruges

In 2004 Scott and I spent 5 days driving around Belgium and Holland. It was one of my favourite little mini-break that we ever took. The first place we visited was Bruges. Both of us absolutely adored this little town and I can highly recommend going if you are in the area. It is old, quaint, small and easy to walk around. There are waffles, chocolate and beer everywhere. There is even a little bar that we went to called ‘t Brugs Beertje which had over 300 beers (all with their own glasses) to choose from. To say Scott...

What to see in Brussels

Where is Brussels? After nearly 6 weeks in France we decided we were ready for a new country …. something drastically different perhaps? So we drove about 4 hours north east across the boarder and we landed in Belgium. For those you who haven’t been, Belgium is pretty similar to France, although citizens of both countries might choose to deny it! However, we had some friends in Brussels so we thought we might go and visit for a few days. The first thing we did was have a belated little birthday Party for Tom. It turns out you really don’t...
