Tonight was a full moon and not just any full moon but a Super moon. This means the Moon is closer to the Earth and often will appear much larger and brighter than normal. I had also read that apparently this particular moon is the closest it has been to the earth in 19 years.
So we headed off to the beach to enjoy our evening. It is days like this that actually make me second guess our move to Ubud! Whilst I love living up in the mountains with the peace, jungle and the rice fields …. I love the beach, I grew up on the beach and whenever I am there I feel energised and recharged. Ubud is the furtherest I have lived from the beach (not counting a few years in London) and it takes about a 30 – 40 minute drive depending on the traffic. We wont live there forever and whilst I love our life, there is part of me that can’t wait to move closer to a beach somewhere in the world.
We went for a wonderful walk at sunset. Surprisingly the beach was fairly quiet and we mostly had it all to ourselves! Tom ran around chasing crabs and poking down their little bubbling water holes. I just enjoyed the cool breeze and the sand beneath my toes.
And then …. out of nowhere, there was the moon. It was magnificent! Better than I had hoped. (I only wish I knew how to use our camera a little better!) We sat down and had a cocktail and then some dinner with our feet in the sand and enjoyed the view. I must admit the view from our table really was unbeatable. The ocean was about 15 meters away and we sat under little sparkling fairy lights.
I can’t wait for the next one … wonder where we will be ….
Wow, the super moon looks magical!xxx
That last photo of the moon is amazing!
